Ubuntu TV is a TV-optimized version of the desktop OS, based around the Unity UI. It feature full-on media center and DVR features, including movie, TV and music stores, and a YouTube app. The idea is to make the OS free for manufacturers to package with their TVs, and Ubuntu says there will be TVs on shelves by the end of the year. Sounds interesting
So much for the good old hooking your pc up to your tv.. Sounds pretty sweet though
I've used Ubuntu many times as a backup to my Windows, and I love that they are expanding! I just recently learned they make their own laptops!
This is a genius concept, I think it's great news that they're expanding. Choice and accessibility are two very great things when it comes to watching television and this offers them both, great stuff.

I don't like to use linux on desktops, but I'm a great fan of free software filosophy. it's good to see it implemented on more and more areas!
