Inside the generator battery sits an "electromagnetic induction generator and an electric double layer capacitor" and although you'd have to do an impossibly vigorous amount of shaking to power a DSLR, for low-drain gadgets like remotes and LED torches a quick shuffle should dribble out enough energy for a brief spell of use.

some of those might be usefull on those slow wireless mouses
Made me think of the shake-weight. cool idea though
Really cool idea. I agree Shimizu, I'd love to see this in wireless mouses.
That is so cool, the stuff they're coming up with these days.
sweet and useful. I hope they'll be able to hold a charge
I've been waiting for something like this for all my life @__@
This is really awesome! And yeah, in a wireless mouse would be sweet!
also a great way to tone muscles. The batter shaker-a-nator. happy turkey day to you.
Wow, that looks pretty cool. I can't tell you how much I hate dead batteries

Now we don't even have to get out of the couch to get new batteries.
We'll all be fat and die.
But it's such a cool invention, so who cares!
That would be badass
hmmm, i wonder what would happen if a woman put these in her vibrator.....................lol
I like the idea overall. Although I can't see them being used in devices like phones that can consume massive amounts of energy for its battery, I can see that it could be useful for that one last TV show before you go and buy a pack of batteries.
Very intereting info indeed
that wil never catch on. Remember the shake-rechargeable flash lights? Yeah, me neither, people got sick and tired of all the work involved.
I'd like one of these in my tv remote >.<
I really do enjoy this technology - nothing like an emergency flashlight that you never have to worry about finding with dead batteries.
science is awesome
that would save so much money
That's really cool. Great post!
I thought shaking and hitting the remote already made it work longer xD
nice...
lol pertetuum mobile
I reely like your post!
I follow you dayle!nice work Bro!
Now these are cool. And useful.
Doesn't seem very practical.
Great post...
it's like a shake weight ( shakeweight.com ) they should combine that!
women making electricity while training :D
Almost seems like an obvious concept...wonder how it took so long to think of it
i havent been so much online lately,,but now I will visit you every day..:)
Thats awesome
lol sweet, i want one
Troll physics: put one in a "personal massage device" and it would run forever.
That is great idea. It amazes me the things they come up with now.
epic, just epic
The only real question I have is this: why haven't they figured this out sooner?
