With Ivy Bridge out, there's a ton of great new desktops, ultrabooks, and gaming rigs coming out over the next few months. But they're all under the shadow of the other major release, Windows 8. Good news for anyone taking the plunge, though: Windows 8 upgrades will be available for just $15 if you buy a Windows 7 machine after June 2.
For previous updates to Windows, Microsoft had given free upgrades to late-cycle buyers. But Microsoft megablogger Paul Thurrott dug up the $15 price, and it seems fairly legitimate. The upgrade will also only cover Windows 8 Pro, not the standard version that most users would probably buy on their own.

what sucks is that you cant get windows 8 ultimate, its seems to be only for coperations.. bs
Upgrade should of been free, but I think 8 looks awful so I live with it
I'm not sold on 8 yet. It took me a while to come around to 7. I think I'll sit this one out and let all the bugs get straightened out. Or, if it is a replay of ME & Vista, I'll just stick with 7.
I will stick to Windows 7 for a while too, it works just fine for me
This is really good news for anyone looking to make the switch, I'm with Geek's Paradise though, it seems stupid to instantly make the switch before reading about how everyone else finds it to be.
