This Is How 9/11 Looked From Space

Taken by the Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus camera on NASA's Landsat 8, this image shows the 9/11 attack site. If you think that this is not impressive, think again: it was taken the next day, September 12 at 11:30am.

The image shows New York and the smoke from the World Trade Center in true color. More here.

One of the worst days in human's history.

What's even more striking....I flew past it on September 15th on my way back to the Willow Grove air station. Even though we flew well south of the island and were at about 30,000 feet, we STILL saw a cloud of smoke. I'll write about it tomorrow. How's that for a teaser?
NOTE: It will be my only post that will be laugh-free. As it should be.

Okay, what I'm about to say may offend people who take it the wrong way, so read VERY carefully.

Yes, 9/11 was sad, I feel bad for every affected, but the fact of the matter is that we have to stop milking it. There is no reason for people to continue harping on and on about this, it's over, it's long in the past, and we need to move on.

Huh... Too bad we don't have an image the day of the attack. That would be interesting to see...
