Acer's AC700 Chromebook Coming to the US This Month for $350

Samsung's Series 5 Chromebook too expensive? Fear not, Acer just announced that its Chromebook, dubbed the AC700, will go on sale in the states this month for $349.99, to be followed by a 3G-equipped version later this summer.

If you're part of the niche market that would happily live in Chrome OS in exchange for instant-on access, be advised that it runs on an Atom N570 processor and 2GB of RAM, and has 16GB of flash storage, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, two USB 2.0 ports, and a 4-in-1 memory card reader.

Surprised it's so cheap. Makes sense considering what it can do though I suppose. I wonder if the price will spike their sales.

Just sounds like a shitty laptop. Then again, I don't know enough about chromeOS. Still, the specs aren't really all that great.

For 350, instand on feature makes this WELL worth the price. Having to wait for my blasted windows machine to turn on is soooo annoying! Id drop the 350 for instant on feature alone!

I think this will have great success because Google is a well-known company and people can trust it to put they money on it.

Yeah I like Chrome and a Chrome OS sounds like a cool idea, but would it be more useful than a laptop? I don't think so. But great find and thanks for sharing!
