A Vinyl-CD Hybrid To Keep the Hipster-Yuppies Satisfied

Can't vinyl and CDs get along? That's the reasonable question posed by electronic/techno musician Jeff Mills, who has released his latest album on a two-for-one hybrid format. Thoughtful mediation, or sixth sign of the apocalypse? Check out the flip side:

Personally, I'm always fan of the convergence of analog and digital. The album, called The Occurrence and the latest in a series from Mills called The Sleeper Wakes, is a limited edition release from Axis Records.

my dad threw out all my collectors edition records after I moved out. He said he thought I didn't want them anymore.Probably several thousand dollars he trashed to make room for his rollaway file cabinet of tax records.

I used to have some vinyls, I loved their sound. I'm excited to see technology coming to a meeting point.

How much would it suck if you put it in the wrong way around? Still, a good idea!

I think they should move back to vinyls. Vinyls was an art piece. You had the cover which was really big and the inserts. Information inside about the band, pictures, etc. It's not the same with this :(

That was an interesting item to hybridize.

I'd be down for vinyl, but my living space & income only allow me to waste my money on only so much useless crap at a time.

As an avid vinyl collector/music fan I find this really interesting. Don't see it really catching on as vinyl is mostly a novelty but it's a neat idea.
