Dell promises a 10-inch Windows 7 tablet later this year

Dell's just announced that it's planning to bring a 10-inchWindows 7 tablet to market later this year. According to the press release, it will be aimed at commercial and enterprise markets. Sound familiar? Yep, it sounds like a HP Slate in the making, but let's hope this one is faster and sticks to its shipping schedule.

  3. I wonder how many companies will get into tablets before Apple releases the next big thing and they have to catch up again.

  7. I guess we'll see how that works. There's a reason Apple didn't make a full OS tablet

  12. I don't think I'll ever catch on with the huge touchpad computers. Still seems like a gimmick to me.

  15. My Tablet desires ...
    $400
    Windows OS
10" (could handle 7" if I had to)
dual core AMD or Intel 2ghz+
    4g memory
    100gb+ hd
SDHC slot (NOT MICRO! cards are pricey)
user replaceable battery w/ 5 hours life
at least 1 prefer 2 USB slots
    and hdmi out slot
Choms expect a price tag of $700 :/

Why no one can make these things at or near the $400 price point I dont understand. they are f'n netbooks people. not full powered laptops! Intel has the chips. they have dual core low wattage cpus. AMD is now releasing some too. these companies would more than make up the revenue. quantity over price
