A Better Soda Can

Aluminum cans are convenient! So why would we need a better soda can? Well because even though they're recyclable, they're not really reusable. This soda can is not only reusable, it's also biodegradable. Better for everybody!

It's humorously called the TIN CAN though its made from PLA (poly-lactic acid), which means some sort of corn starch that can retain some plastic properties (and also, one of the better eco-friendly materials around).

It's reusable? But it looks all bent...

It would be quite sad to see them degrade while standing on a shelf. Still, it's a good substitute for aluminium.

So will it break down in my fridge if I leave the unopened can in there for too long?

Hmm.. I dunno. I like the idea tho!

nifty. though i wonder if it'll have some kind of catch like those bio degradeable sun chip bags.

cool. people will probably complain for some retarded reason and demand the old can back like they did with the sun chip bags.

That's a great idea.

I think it's the only way forward, we can't continue using metal for this purpose.

Eco friendly? I'm already convinced it's better then aluminum.

bio degradable is a misnomer. It's nothing but a trick to make consumers think that it's eco friendly. It really isn't. Look it up. No respectable eco-friendly organization supports biodegradable products.

nice to know. but if it's true what cooperlife say it is not as cool as it seems in the beginning

thats definitely better

Awesome. Hopefully companies start implementing them.

Wow the things they can do with corn starch these days. the last few years at festivals they've handed out bio-degradable tent pegs made from corn starch...what a brave new world we live in

This is great - as long as we keep taking small steps like this then we'll come out all right.
