Sanwa Throat Mic, For Your Very Tactical Cellphone Conversations

Special forces may use throat mics to coordinate near-silent attacks on enemy bases, but Sanwa wants to bring all that convenience to your next supermarket run.

Sanwa's hands-free throat mic looks like a military headset, but it's made for use with your cellphone. Good for noisy environments and just those times you don't want the cabbie to know about your ass rash, Sanwa's system should be available for import soon.

It's a neat piece of tech, but I fail to see it really being practical for the standard user.

I'm amused...but the problem with standard throat mics is that they are more than a bit uncomfortable and feel like a very tiny person trying to choke you from behind.

I don't see these taking off well except perhaps with ex-military unless they somehow changed it enough that the pressure is unnecessary to remain on your throat.

When I first glanced at that picture I thought it was a crotch shot of a girl in a thong. I'm tired.

Don't think this would be for me. Rather have a standard mic. If I have something to say to someone that I don't want other people hearing, I'll go and talk to that person in private.

Looks like a nice alternative to a headset. I'd consider buying one as long as it's not exceedingly costly.
