Like cicadas or Fleetwood Mac reunion tours, the McRib only comes around once or twice in a generation. Starting today, and for the next six weeks, every McDonald's location in the US will carry the mythical manwich. Hallelujah.
The last time we had a McRibbing of this scale was all the way back in 1994. Since then, the pork(ish) patty has broken cover only occasionally, and at limited locations. Devotees were forced to turn to makeshift solutions like the McRib Locator to track them down. No longer.
Time to put away that Double Down, friends. Go forth into the world and McRib.
A McRib Locator? Really? It has to be more hype than real demand.
ReplyDeleteBut the Double Down, now that is amazing, lol.
sweet, i've always wanted to try one of these
ReplyDeletethat looks really delicious! i also want them here!
ReplyDeleteBuh...I can't imagine why anyone would hunt these things down...much less buy them if they are even regularly available. But hey, whatever floats their boat (and stops their heart).
ReplyDeleteugggg, sickening
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we get these in the UK, it looks amazing!
ReplyDeletenjami.....coca cola and mcDonalds...

ReplyDeleteThese are pretty much commonly available at Target, or wherever Morningstar Farms brand vegetarian frozen food is sold.
I used to love McRib when I was a kid. I've become a much pickier eater as an adult - I have a serious problem with meat-based food that has mysteriously lumps or bit inside. So I eat vegetarian ch'kn nuggets.
I actually made one of the MSF ribettes for my boyfriend, a die-hard meat lover, this weekend. It said it was "An acceptable substitute."
So, if the lines at McD's are too long, you can try my suggestion. They come 2 in a box.
well we dont have those in Poland
ReplyDeleteJust, ate..now I am hungry again, ftw.
ReplyDeleteIt comes back to the Houston area every year. I honestly... have never really been impressed. :/
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot about them, but never seen them in neither the UK nor Russia.
ReplyDeletein the past you could get a mcrib all the time (in germany)

ReplyDeleteBut I guess I'd try one.
McDonald's isn't my favorite but its worth a try.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of that one episode of the Simpsons, about Homer being obsessed with the Ribwich. If you watch the episode, when Homer bites into the Ribwich, there is a reference to the movie Requiem for a Dream. Yeah, great post!

ReplyDeleteI have never had a McRib, they sound good, but right now, I don't feel like going off my diet for one.
ReplyDeleteSee, why don't we just put a fresh rack of ribs in a sandwich and slather that shit with bbq sauce? Wouldn't it be the same thing and taste better? :1
ReplyDeleteYummy! Then much regrets.
ReplyDeleteBleh. I don't think i'd try it. Not much for ribs, especially ones that would come from McD's haha...
