Would These Concept Power Cables Make Your Life Easier?

Despite making almost everything we use every day of our lives work, power cables are despised, and we haven't innovated our way out of them yet. This nesting concept cable, however, aims to tame the jungle. But would it work?

The Line Block cables click and seal together like a Ziploc bag—the idea being that you can lock a whole cluster of them together into one electricity snake, rather than the rat's nest of wiring I have behind my TV right now. It looks good on paper—as many concepts do—but some are skeptical, worrying that power bricks and outlets would split up the linked wiring. Hard to say based on nothing more than a rendered image, but we salute any attempts to maintain order.

This would indeed be VERY useful. If used all over, the creator of this would be very rich...

lets get on this!

I think this is a great idea.

It's a great idea, but I don't see any grounds in those cables. I wonder if they could set up a ground in that top ridge.

Drackar said...

potential...but they add bulk.

interesting!

That would be quite awesome. Although I am still not sure if it would work out good. Guess there's only one way to find out *heads of to store selling that shit*

tonyman33 said...

Definately a neat idea, jist getting the people to buy it would be the problem

DDRMidgetID said...

thats so cool!

SaviorSelf said...

i don't understand how it would work. you could still only have like two at the most at a time right? for normal wall sockets. i mean obviously you could use a power strip, but still.. i don't like it.
personally, it'd be more of a hassle than normal.

i just hope they figure out how to make wireless power cords in my life time.. or preferably machines that consume so little energy they can run virtually forever on an infinitesimally small charge.

do this and get rich

Kevorkian said...

I don't think this would change my life but keeping the wires a little more neat would be nice indeed, and the concept is pure genius.

Must have...

The answer would be a definite, "YES!" On top of my TV and cable & internet cords, I have like 15 gaming systems and their power and RF adapter, etc cords which makes it very a hard (a jungle!) when I'm trying to switch between using consoles. I could use something like this.

theyd prolly make my life MORE difficult lol. plug goes where!?

Mitsuru said...

It looks good but I'd wait to see if it actually worked.

DailyTechnician said...

Id totally buy into this, being a technician I see lots of houses with the tangle problem including mine.

Splash87 said...

Cool concept, but it really wouldn't work when you have wires going in total opposite directions like I do.

Felshy said...

yes they would

thecatzpajamas said...

yes i do believe so

you should view my page if you need some humor :D

bubba said...

wow that a nice power cord

Sir Strokington said...

Damn...wish I had thought that up. I dunno how useful it will be though...seems like it would get complicated with a lot of cables.

Unknown said...

YES! Most definitely! my cables are always intertwined!

Food said...

Hell, even if they aren't perfect, they'd be a definite step up from what we have now.

RonNiebOy said...

awesome article, if they were to implement this the right way, would totally revolutionize the cord/wire/hook-up problems of most

Carlos Valle said...

i say we get this cause its awesome

Michael Casspir said...

Looks like an idea I could get behind - but we need the entire industry to adopt it for it to be useful...

JillDine said...

i don't really mind power cables, i suppose this is a good idea if your cables arent different length and sizes.

Katie Greene said...

eh, probably wouldn't make a huge difference in my life. thanks though.

Engelhart said...

This is actually a really great idea. It'd definitely make computer assembly and dis-assembly a whole lot easier.

Nie Mand said...

Where can I get this, I need it now!

Velociplum said...

Naw, I don't think it would be too much of a change

Dan said...

It mostly depends on the charge running through it. I would hate to have electrical interference.

MetalliBoy said...

wow, i never imagine that

i'll wait for wireless electricity

Thats a pretty cool concept

hmmm cool, I wonder how much theyll cost

Cowbellrocker said...

Looks like a cool idea, I like the idea of wireless energy transfer as proposed by tesla.

Kikino said...

I WANNA BUY THIS RIGHT NOW!!1

kmartsmartsuperstar said...

Wow. I wish they'd move forward with this idea!

MikeNeuman said...

I like the idea. Not sure how it would work in the States though.

Lil' Rocker Flower said...

Wow, it look kinda... strange that power cables, like a usb cable...

Alouette said...

This idea has a lot of potential.

Returning the favour. :)

look at the wires, theres sad face :(

Paladin-Bias said...

brilliant

JHack said...

Cool concept.

Now, if we had only listened to Tesla, we wouldn't need these damn wires at all.

Applelove said...

somehow it seems this wouldnt solve the problem with my cords

RoodNverse said...

tis idea is just dumb lol...all cords are different lengths and go different ways , if you want cords together use a zip-tie you ree-rees , and yes they need to make a wireless power source for homes....

Joel C Anatoli said...

Hook me up!

Owtwem said...

It looks like a good idea. But like you said, all we have to go on is a picture, so I guess as time moves onward, we'll find out more about this.

Unknown said...

I like it. Anything that reduces the cable jungle in my house is very welcome.

Dan said...

So why isn't this being used everywhere yet?

Alan said...

can't that be solved by a clip?
