Oakley's 3D Glasses Arriving Just in Time For Tron Legacy

Personally, I'm hoping all this 3D business will just go away if I ignore it long enough, but if you're riding the wave, you might want a decent pair of 3D spectacles. Oakley's new Tron-branded pair should be suitably futuristic.

The Tron:Legacy Oakleys, the first in their line of passive polarized 3D shades, will have some neon Tronesque doodads on the side but will also purportedly offer greater peripheral viewing and a better 3D alignment than most glasses.

You'll have to pay $150 for that fidelity when the Oakleys are available later this year, so if you're prone to losing your glasses, as I am, investing in one of those neck lanyards might not be a bad idea.

  1. I too want 3D to just disappear, but we know that wont happen.
I'm giving it a good few years before I buy anything to do with it.

  2. I wonder if these are powered shutter glasses that will work with 3D vision?

  3. I don't like glasses...
When will we have 3d without any glasses?

  4. Tron Legacy looks like a movie of the year candidate, let's hope they do not blow it. With 3D Glasses, it must be THE experience.

  5. i wonder what the quality is like and if your head goes dizzy when you wear them too long..

  6. I think 3D would be great if it was limited to movies designed from the outset to use 3D like Avatar and Tron. What makes me mad is that nowadays everything is coming out in 3D just so theaters can charge you $20.50 for a single friggin ticket!

    feels bad man :(

  7. I saw jackass 3D last friday, funny movie with all the 3dness but damn the glasses were annoying. I wish they had these in the theater!

  8. I hope that 3d goes away too. But funny enough I can get these for free if I want. It pays to be the kid of opticians and optometrists lol.

  9. I'm not so thrilled with the current take on 3d entertainment, no. But the future has potential. Once we shift from "3d" from a single perspective to a 3d environment you can view from any angle, it'll be amazing.

  10. I must say that I highly dislike 3d. The technology generally just gives me headaches (the exception being the non-glasses version which I have only seen once).

  16. I've thought about buying a pair of glasses like these, specially since I went to see Avatar and the crummy theater glasses were so dark I couldn't enjoy the movie.

  21. 150$ for some stylish 3d glasses? Geez! I'm not really a fan of the whole 3d thing. I do recognize that it has some potential, but the truth is it was made to cash in on new technology, cash in on added taxes to your movies, etc, etc...

  22. Yeah, I hope 3D will vanish soon too.

  24. Yeah, really getting sick of all this 3D bizzo, I don't even notice things are in 3D anymore by the time I'm halfway through the movie...

  25. I really want this whole 3D TV thing to pass too. I mean it's cool, but it's not practical. I don't want to have to wear glasses to watch TV and I don't want to have to buy extra glasses to accommodate guests.

  28. Excited for Tron Legacy, but I agree. 3D is such wankery that it's starting to actually irritate me when I see a movie is coming out in 3D...

  29. Hi all, I've finally settle down with a theme(there's more to do and customize) and also done my homework. Tell me what do you think, vimax 3-4 Dot Com. I'm not sure you guys can add a comment about the products? We can help out each another commenting on it? I'm not sure. Of course not about products review but tips, fashion, coupon and lots more. Any idea? Thanks! XR2011K6
